"Secours catholique – Caritas France" Association (Guadeloupe)
"Secours catholique – Caritas France" Association is committed to providing moral support and practical aid and assistance, both direct and indirect, wherever needed. The project, co-financed by the Air France Foundation consists in creating an "intercultural digital village" in the town of Abymes, Guadeloupe, providing young people with space, supervision and lasting tools enabling them to gain a better understanding of each other and of their environment and to integrate more successfully into the socio-economic and cultural life of their society.

"Lanmen Kontre Association" (French Guiana)
"Lanmen Kontre" Association provides support for children and young people living in underprivileged neighbourhoods of Cayenne. The project, aims to provide lessons that complement schooling and other training, thereby supporting social re-integration of young people who have left the education system. Remedial classes are provided for younger schoolchildren encountering learning difficulties. This action focuses on children from the areas served by the Pasteur school and from the Cité Clives Alexandre neighbourhood, which is a priority-education zone. A play area is also to be created for children aged 6 to 12, facilitating social integration for the children and their parents. The Air France Foundation is participating in this programme. |

"Activ´Art Association" (Martinique)
"Activ´Art Association" is committed to facilitating access to culture and thereby fostering more widespread interaction. It is active in the national "culture in hospital" programme, which fosters artistic and cultural activities in hospitals by encouraging cultural players and managers of healthcare institutions to develop a joint cultural policy. To begin with, the project supported by the Foundation is focusing on a pilot site – the Carbet hospital centre, which is the only rehabilitation centre in the Caribbean. The aim is to improve the quality of life of young long-stay patients thanks to five artistic workshops encompassing theatre, music, dance and the visual arts, the central theme of which is the idea of a "travel diary".
This project will give rise to a book, an exhibition or a cultural event. |

"Association Sportive et Sociale des Handicapés et Adhérents Valides" (Martinique)
"Association Sportive et Sociale des Handicapés et Adhérents Valides" seeks, notably, to give people suffering from physical or sensory disability an opportunity to engage in accessible sporting activities. Torball is a team sport that was specially developed for visually-impaired people.
The project is aimed primarily at children, because self-esteem is acquired during childhood, and visually-impaired children are often unable to participate in the physical activities practised by their able-bodies friends.
After conducting an introductory torball course, the association would like to establish permanent clubs within existing entities catering to the needs of able-bodied people. It is also keen to organise appropriate sporting activities in centres for disabled children. The Foundation´s support will help make these wishes come true. |

"A.S.M.A.E." Association (Ile-de-France)
"A.S.M.A.E." Association is engaged in long-term preventive and support actions for children and families in difficulty. It is opening a reception and accommodation centre in Bobigny for young mothers and their children.
With a view to appropriately meeting the special needs of these young mothers – who are extremely fragile in psychological and social terms – ASMAE is keen to organise training for the teams of social workers within the framework of an accommodation facility and crèche. The aim is to avoid placing the children in care, to enable the mothers to achieve social rehabilitation and to improve mother-child relationship.
The Air France Foundation is supporting this programme for a three-year period. |

"Armée du Salut" Fondation (Ile-de-France)
"Armée du Salut" Fondation aims to prevent isolation and poverty, and to fight all forms of psychological fragility, material difficulty and the resulting social exclusion. The organisation manages the Morfondé estate in Villeparisis, near Charles-de-Gaulle airport, which houses the "Cap Sourire" (heading for smiles) social rehabilitation centre.
The "Cap Sourire" workshop – which is being supported by the Air France Foundation in 2006 – is aimed at people aged 16 to 20 who are in serious difficulty and are excluded from ordinary state-owned support systems. The workshop provides the young people with a grounding in French, thereby enabling them to develop the autonomy and self-confidence that are required for integration.
Attendees take part in three half-day sessions each week, and quarterly "rallies" are organised to help them to find their bearings in an urban setting. |

"APETREIMC" Association (Ile-de-France)
"APETREIMC" Association manages three drop-in centres for able-bodied and physically-disabled children (40% of the children suffer from cerebral palsy). Pupils with cerebral palsy are able to receive an education in a standard school environment. From the outset, however, their integration in school requires the support of a cross-disciplinary team specialising in cerebral palsy.
Unfortunately, little time is spent covering cerebral palsy during initial training. The aim of the project financed by the Foundation, therefore, is to train freelance therapists to take care of children with cerebral palsy, and to ensure that they, in turn, can train further professionals. |

"L´Envol pour les enfants européens" Association
"L´Envol pour les enfants européens" Association, which is located in Echouboulains, near Fontainebleau, is a holiday camp with medical facilities for seriously-ill children.
As well as standard "all-patient" breaks, Envol organises short two-night breaks known as the Envol weekends. The Air France Foundation – which is a co-founder and member of the Envol board – provides financial support for short breaks for children with sickle-cell anaemia, a serious genetic illness affecting the red blood cells.
The short breaks are designed to teach the children, their parents and their brothers and sisters how to live with the illness – general understanding, care, precautions with food and psychological techniques for relieving family tension and increasing the young patient´s resilience. |

"Secours Populaire Français" Association (Ile-de-France)
"Secours Populaire Français"Association is closely linked to the provision of holidays for children, young people and families (the first breaks were organised in 1944 for the children of people who had been deported or executed).
Even today, one child in three does not go on holiday, which is why, in the second half of August each year, Secours Populaire organises the so-called "Journée des Oubliés des vacances" (a day for those left behind) for children who have not been away. The Air France Foundation supports this programme both financially and through the provision of voluntary workers. |

"A Chacun son Everest" Association (Chamonix)
"A Chacun son Everest" Association enables children to switch status from "sick child" to "conqueror". Today, almost 75% of children suffering from leukaemia or cancer can be cured. All too often, family and friends continue to view these children as patients. The resultant feeling of being different, and the difficulty of reintegration into society act as brakes on "total recovery". This is where the association comes in.
The Air France Foundation supports the association by contributing funds for the creation of a climbing room for the children. This room is also designed for use by disabled children. |

"Goëland"Association (France)
"Goëland"Association provides moral, administrative and financial support for disabled Air France employees and their families, and for employees´ disabled children.
Two former employees – both of them ski enthusiasts who have become disabled – have set up a skiing activity for disabled people in collaboration with the Air France sporting association (Amicale Sportive d´Air France).
A physically- and intellectually-disabled child was one of the participants. The benefits of the break were clear to see, both in the child´s behaviour and in terms of ease of integration into a special school.
The association is therefore keen to deploy this activity to all concerned children of Air France employees, and has chosen the Serre Chevalier resort for its sunshine and its proximity to Briançon (where there are centres offering treatment for respiratory problems and disabilities of all kinds). The Air France Foundation is participating in this programme through the purchase of special equipment. |

"Cyberhosto" Association (Toulouse)
"Cyberhosto" Association enables hospitalised children to overcome isolation, communicate with their loved ones and with other hospitalised children, and learn how to use computers and the Internet. The children can play or learn using appropriate software, and access websites specially selected for their age group.
The computers are located in the children´s living spaces (room, school and playroom). Laptop computers are also available for children whose condition or illness limits their mobility. The Air France Foundation finances new equipment. |
